Description
Nice floral low ABV cocktail that you can sip all night!
The Chrysanthemum cocktail is a quiet classic from the early 20th century, most famously appearing in Hugo Ensslin’s 1916 book Recipes for Mixed Drinks. It’s a delicate, aromatic drink built on dry vermouth, with a touch of Bénédictine and a hint of absinthe, reflecting the era’s love of herbal and floral flavors.
Unlike many bold pre-Prohibition cocktails, the Chrysanthemum stands out for its subtlety and perfume-like character. It’s often seen as a bridge between aperitif-style drinks and the absinthe-influenced classics of its time.
Ingredients
2.5oz Dry Vermouth
.50oz Benedictine

Instructions
Take all of your ingredients minus the orange twist and put it in your mixing glass. Add ice and stir for 10-15 seconds and you will strain that out into a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Express an orange twist over the drink and place in the glass. Enjoy!
